Partners Gwen Samora, Russell Gips, and Morgan Copeland secured a complete dismissal of a lawsuit filed against their client under the False Claims Act. The whistleblower lawsuit alleged that Copeland & Rice LLP client Kinder Morgan had wrongfully failed to pay royalties on trace amounts of helium contained in the carbon dioxide produced from federal leases. After briefing by all parties, the federal court sided with Kinder Morgan and dismissed the entire lawsuit.
